THEORY EXAM
In the Blended Learning Course
Your theory exam will take place at the end of your training day. This is a short answer written examination which will last 60 minutes (An additional 30 minutes will be given if you require additional time. Please bring proof of any learning difficulties that you may suffer from) This exam will take place under strict exam conditions. The only material you will be allowed is a pen to write with. The theory paper has 70 marks. A minimum of 49 marks overall is required in order to pass.
As a Home Study course
To pass the practical assessment, you will be required to complete the Cheerobics Instructor Manual as an open book assessment, and to return it by post to the UK. A 95% pass mark is required to pass the theory portion of the course.
You will be given a mock exam paper which you can complete with the help of your online tutor and via your skype tutorial session, to ensure that you fully understand the material before your submission.
PRACTICAL EXAM
When you successfully pass your theory examination you will be invited to send in your practical examination by video, where you will be required to submit a CONTINOUS and UNEDITED 60 minute video of you teaching a Cheerobics® class. Instructions, details and marking criteria will be sent to you via email. The practical exam has 70 marks and divided into two sections: 'Teaching' and 'Technical'. You must get 70% in each section individually in order to pass.
You will have 3 months from the date of your theory exam to submit your video
Certificate and license
Once you have passed your theory and practical examinations, you will be sent an official email confirmation with a copy of the Cheerobics® Instructor License Terms and Conditions. You must print this document, sign it and return it to us by post as soon as possible. As soon as this is done your status as a Cheerobics® Instructor will be valid and we will send you your Certificate and an invitation to join the CI Network. Your license will be valid for one year from the date of issue of the Certificate, after which you will need to renew it yearly. A copy of the License Terms and Conditions can be found in your Cheerobics® Instructor Manual and will shortly be available online.
If you do not pass at your first attempt
In the case that you do not achieve sufficient marks to pass either of your exams, you may re-register to take your exam individually at an additional cost of £50.00 per exam. You will be able to resit your theory exam at the next available opportunity, and you may resend your video submission at any point after the instructions have been issued.
Appeals Procedure
In the event that you wish to dispute the mark for your practical examination, you may appeal by writing directly to appeals@cheerobics.net attaching a copy of your practical observation checklist and a link to your video by using the guidelines outlined by the Cheerobics® Appeals Procedures. You will receive a copy of this from your tutor during your training day.
